DAY 1:
Cycling Adventure along Göta Canal (40 km)
Töreboda – Sjötorp – Töreboda
Your journey begins in Töreboda, an ideal starting point if you're arriving by train. On your first day, cycle along the car-free paths beside Göta Canal, passing an impressive 19 locks on your way to Sjötorp by Lake Vänern. Afterward, return to Töreboda and check in at the cozy Pensionat Prästgården. Conclude your evening with a delightful dinner at Prästgården’s Garden Café, where you can relax and enjoy the garden on a warm summer night.
Terrain: The bike path is a small gravel road alongside Göta Canal and completely car-free. Very easy cycling.
Tip of the Day: If you haven’t had lunch along the way, there are several restaurants in Sjötorp to choose from, including Café Baltzar, Restaurang Kajutan, Maltes Fisk, and Perssons i Backen.
DAY 2:
Cycling Adventure to Tåtorp (34 km)
Töreboda – Tåtorp – Töreboda
After a delightful breakfast, continue your cycling journey towards Tåtorp and back to Töreboda. Pass through Wassbacken and Lanthöjden, where the seven-meter-tall obelisk marks the canal's highest point. Explore Tåtorp, where Göta Canal flows into Lake Viken, and visit the historic manually operated lock from 1814. Return to Töreboda for a comfortable overnight stay and another delicious meal.
DAY 3:
Relaxation in Töreboda
Enjoy breakfast on the terrace or in the lush garden of Pensionat Prästgården. Take some time to explore Töreboda or simply unwind before concluding your unforgettable Göta Canal experience.
