Technical facts: This regulating lock with a rise of 0.2 metre is one of two which are still manually operated.Borensberg Lock was the first to be built entirely under Swedish supervision. The old lockkeeper’s house dates from 1820. The Canal Company’s directives state that a cottage “of limestone with a tiled roof” was under construction at Husbyfjöl, which was the name of the village until the end of the 19th century. A new lockkeeper’s house was built in 1948.
