Camping with a touch of luxury
Travel blogger Annika Myhre (Resfredag) visited the Göta Canal in early summer 2024 with her group of friends for a delightful three-day cycling tour. One of the nights was spent in one of the many glamping tents along the canal.
The glamping area at Sörby Gård is run by Karin Sandstedt, who has recently returned to her native Östergötland after many years abroad. This adventurous architect and entrepreneur has gathered both ideas and items during her travels around the world to create her own little paradise along the Göta Canal. The farm features eight spacious and cozy glamping tents, each with its own unique theme. The freshly made beds in the glamping tents are comfortable, and the decor has been carefully planned by Karin down to the smallest detail.
In addition to the glamping tents, there is also the option to rent bivouacs, which in this case are small triangular wooden huts. Like the glamping tents, each bivouac has its own theme that permeates both the decor and the ambiance—for example, you can step into a small Japanese oasis beautifully nestled in greenery a bit away from the Göta Canal.
Several toilets and showers are available on the farm, and in the morning we were served a generous breakfast from Bostället's bakery. After a good night's sleep, we were ready to get back on our bikes—ready for the next adventure along the Göta Canal!
