Fishing along the Göta Canal

Fishing in the Göta Canal is a cozy experience, but there are some rules that are important to follow. If you travel by boat on the canal, it is allowed to angle in the canal from the boat, except for the canal route in Motala, where noble fish is planted. All fishing in the canal is otherwise leased and permission is required by the landlord for fishing.

On the canal section within Töreboda municipality, from Gastorp bridge to the Railway Bridge in Töreboda, it is allowed for everyone to angle, even from land. In the lakes along the Göta Canal, fishing licenses are required. In Lake Vättern and Lake Vänern, special fishing rules apply.
